I design products for teams who have outgrown their first interface. Usually that means a tool that made sense for twelve customers and stopped making sense at twelve hundred.

Ten years in, the pattern is always the same: the screens aren't the problem, the model underneath them is. So I spend the first weeks on structure — what the thing actually is, who does what to it, and in what order — and only then on how it looks.

I work solo and embedded: one person owning research, interface, system and front-end handoff, sitting in your standups rather than presenting from the outside.
